Checkmate, Fear!

As a mama I often find myself hearing the words "BUT MOM" and "it's not fair". My 3 year old has somehow found out about these words and I have no idea where she learned them but she did and often times it is followed by complaining of some kind. Even as a teenager when I would say "BUT MOM" it was often followed by "that's totally NOT fair. Why can't I do this?" and then my wonderful mama would give me the perfect reason as to why I could in fact NOT do what I had asked.

How many times in our relationship with Christ do we utter the words "BUT GOD, WHY?" And how many times does He give you the reason when you ask? If we live our entire lives constantly saying "BUT GOD", what would it look like? Would we be like spoiled teenagers constantly asking our parent to do something they have already said no to?

Can you imagine what it would look like if instead of "BUT GOD" we remembered "but GOD..." What if instead of crying out to God asking WHY you have so much fear, anxiety, depression, etc. You looked at your FEAR, anxiety, depression and said but GOD. Even in the midst of this pandemic we need to look at the enemy and say "No! but GOD!" How fearful are you? Do you put fear above faith?

"God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us" Acts 17:27

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose" Romans 8:28

Do you realize THAT when you cry out "BUT GOD, WHY"? God works for the good of those who LOVE Him and have been CALLED according to His purpose. What is there to fear? God knows you. He knows every step you take before you take it. Do not put fear over faith.

How about next time you are down on your knees begging, CRYING out to God saying "God WHY has this happened? WHAT am I going to DO?" you instead say "but GOD is bigger than this...but GOD is mighty and strong to handle this battle FOR me", and then rebuke the enemy for this attack he tried and FAILED to execute against you.

Faith over fear. GOD over groaning. GOD over fear. GOD over anxiety.

"But I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a hope and a future" Jeremiah 29:11

So stop asking God WHY and start telling your WHY about GOD, friends!

Start every day brewing

over the Word of God

Morning Brew is a Christian living blog and community that encourages followers of Jesus to start every morning brewing over the Word of God, rejoicing in the Lord, learning more about who He is, and thanking Him for His salvation, provisions and blessings. We are here to grow in our faith and relationship with God every day.

Through our Bible study and Christian living blog, Christian gaming community, women's Bible study and fellowship group, reading plans, and other groups and offerings we strive to build one another up as the body of Christ and edify one another by sharing in what God teaches and reveals to each of us on our faith journeys.

Our Bible study blog covers a multitude of topics relevant to Christian living and practical Biblical application. We focus on deep topical studies, Bible book overviews and  Bible translation studies in our God's Word category. Godly Living is all about living life as a believer in Christ and features categories for everyday Christian living, hobbies, food, and Christian homemaking. Within Godly Abiding we dive into Biblical application within a Godly family, self care, prayer and living an orderly life.

Our gaming community, which includes our Christian ESO guild and Christian Minecraft Realm, as well as our Christian women's group, the Vineyard, and all other events and offerings are designed to foster meaningful Christian to Christian fellowship. Our mission is to grow in faith and learn how to become better examples of Christ together in all areas of our lives.

We love to welcome new members into our growing community and are housed in Discord where we hang out, meet up, play, pray, study and build relationships with one another. We would love to meet and grow with you - join us today!
